fairy tales – religions effect on our reality

Some say religions are nothing more than a collection of fairy tales.   I agree religions are mythological, but I take issue with the words nothing more than.    Religions do not measure success – failure in their mythologies, but to the degree they shape our understanding of reality & influence our behaviors & responses in the real world.

Both Christianity & Islam for instance, use the term ~rightly guided society~ so attesting they measure success – failure in their influence in shaping the real world.

Christianity, a mythology developed by a serial committee of stable decent men, seeks to raise man up in the highest.    A bringing of light, to make us better people than we naturally are. Islam is a mythology which seeks to enslave mankind in a state of submission to the arbitrary edicts of one disaffected little man.

You cannot obtain power & influence without popular support.  The serial committee off Prophet’s & Apostles who wrote the Bible were all supported by constituencies much larger than just themselves.  These were people who held positive hope for the higher aspirations of mankind.   Muhammad too is supported by a wide constituency.  His constituents were drawn from people who were disillusioned, resentful, distrustful & disaffected; people who had negative expectations for humankind.   These two faiths are locked in a contest for the soul of man.

Virtual reality is a legitimate tool of theology & all religions use it.   Islam is the most complete virtual reality ever built, literally an other world. Muslims give up on the real world to instead seek total immersion in this fantasy.  They only pay attention to the real world if reality intrudes upon & disturbs the fantasy, in which case they become distressed blaming & violent.     Muslims say they only want to live the Islamic fantasy in peace, yet reality can have no peace with a delinquent fantasy which not only ignores reality, but visits harm & injury upon it. Does a delinquent fantasy that seeks to mislead & enslave humanity have any right of peace? Muslims hold all things external to Islam, the house of war.

Christianity uses virtual reality to model Gods Kingdom.  ~Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done an earth as it is in heaven~ is not a delinquent fantasy; but a responsible committed effort to improve reality, to raise humanity up & save it in the highest.   The world experiences a comfort zone in the status quo & often regards Christian insistence on improvement & salvation by raising up as a disturbance which it resents.   Christians hold a responsible vision of an improved & raised humanity has a right, indeed a duty to operate as Gods agent on this earth.

I am prepared to accept the concept of two fairy tales, so long as the proponents of that view accept most of us can distinguish between the spells cast by a good fairy & the spells cast by a bad fairy.    That each produce different outcomes for those who fall under their spells.    Would a covenanted God who loves his people; a God who has a duty of care for humankind give a delinquent fantasy that harmed his people, or a higher vision that improved the real world & raised humanity up within it.
